Our team in Canada is growing. We are currently recruiting for a Financial Planning and Analysis Manager to join our Consulting group in the Burnaby office. This position proactively provides business leaders with the necessary financial advice, insightful analysis, management reporting and planning/forecast information to support business decision making across the Consulting Division to improve business performance

 

About the role:

  • Continually analyze KPIs to identify any variances and/or trends to inform business/project level decisions.
  • Support the effective decision making of the business by preparing accurate responses to ad-hoc information requests in a timely manner.
  • Analyze RFP requirements for key financial terms/requirements and formulate commercial strategies to maximise opportunities and mitigate risk.
  • Coordinate the timely completion and analysis of the month-end result.
  • Produce the monthly management finance pack.
  • Manage the annual business planning/budgeting process and the quarterly forecasting process for the region.
  • Work with Project Managers, Project Controllers and the Legal & Commercial Team to ensure scope, trend and contract variations are identified early and client approval received in a timely manner.
  • Provide commercial and financial input into dispute resolution (including as appropriate negotiations) through direct support of the Commercial GM.
  • Prepare and analyse the Division fortnightly and monthly cashflow forecasts.
  • Monitor WIP and Accounts Receivable Ledgers to ensure financial targets are being met.

About you

  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation is preferred
  • Degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in finance / accounting.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in management reporting and operational reporting.
  • Demonstrated experience in financial management, including advanced knowledge of business planning, development of costings, formulating and monitoring budgets, and financial reporting, models and systems.
  • Advanced financial modeling and Excel Super User.
  • Advanced oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective lateral thinking skills to assist with development of improved business solutions.
  • Prior experience in the engineering, construction, consulting, or other project related sectors.
  • Previous experience in supporting senior level decision makers.

Salary range: $115,000 - $130,000 annually

Expected Salary: Variation in salary is determined by factors such as qualifications, relevant years of experience, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.
