Lead Mechanical Designer (Bulk Materials Handling) – Burnaby or Vancouver

Our team is growing, we are currently recruiting for a Lead Mechanical Designer to join our Transportation and Logistics Group.  The role is ideally based in our Burnaby or Vancouver office.

 

About the role

  • Prepare layouts and detail drawings in line with project requirements;
  • Deliver design drafting according to required project timeframes and standards by coordinating and supervising project members, reviewing deliverables and preparing design and detail drawings in line with requirements;
  • Overcome design/schedule issues by maintaining an overview of activity, communicating with the Principal Draftsperson and communicating issues in a timely manner;
  • Maintain consistent design drafting standards across projects by communicating expectations and holding project members to account for standards;
  • Comply with all of Ausenco corporate policies and procedures by adopting Ausenco Quality Assurance and Occupational Health, Safety and Environment policies, procedures and requirements.

 

About You

 

  • Advanced diploma or equivalent in mechanical engineering technology
  • 8 + years of experience in mechanical and materials handling design drafting for mining and port projects
  • Proven track record in mechanical design and plant layout, with a strong focus on designing materials handling equipment such as conveyors, transfer systems, and chutes.
  •  Proficiency in 2D and 3D modeling
  • Well-developed written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience managing teams and leadership capabilities.
  • The ability to meet the challenge of tight deadlines and providing exceptional service to our clients is a must.

Salary range: $90,000 - $120,000 annually

Expected Salary: Variation in salary is determined by factors such as qualifications, relevant years of experience, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.
