Our Mining division is growing in Eastern Canada and we are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Engineer to join our team in GTA  (Burlington or Toronto)

Design experience with mineral processing and a background in consulting or EPCM is preferred. 

About the role

  • Prepare technical specifications, equipment lists, material lists, drawing lists and files
  • Prepare plans, designs, calculations and cost estimates for conventional engineering, studies and development assignments.
  • Contribute to the delivery of multidiscipline engineering design by liaising with other engineering disciplines to coordinate technical information.
  • Prepare physical layouts of plant and equipment, diagrams, schematics and balances
  • Review and advise on technical documents submitted by vendors.
  • Deliver mechanical engineering design according to required project timeframes and standards while adhering to design specifications. 
  • Perform hydraulic, piping, tanks sizing calculations, and material selections
  • Assist the drafting division in the production of project design drawings by providing technical assistance and reviewing and approving drawings in a timely manner

About you

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized post-secondary institution. 
  • 3 – 5 years of experience in preparation of tender packages, requisitions specifications, bid evaluations, package follow up and vendor documents and drawing reviews.
  • P.Eng (Ontario) designation or eligibility / progress toward certification is considered an asset
  • Prior experience working with an engineering consulting firm, equipment vendors or mining companies on mining, mineral processing, projects
  • Good knowledge of CAD, SmatPlant (preferable), 3-D software and MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook and MS Project).
  • Familiarity with ASME codes 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly motivated with strong commitment to teamwork and collaboration.
  • Strong problem solving and organization skills and ability to meet tight deadlines.

Salary range: CAD$80,000 – $95,000  annually.

Expected Salary: Variation in salary is determined by factors such as qualifications, relevant years of experience, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.
