Our team is continuing to grow; we are currently recruiting for a Principal Electrical Engineer to join our Perth office.

About the role

  • Lead the delivery of electrical & instrumentation design for HV, LV and ELV systems, including MCCs and substations
  • Act as the technical authority, providing expert guidance and resolving complex engineering challenges
  • Manage electrical scope across projects to ensure delivery to quality, schedule, and budget targets
  • Oversee preparation and approval of engineering deliverables, including specifications, datasheets, reports, and tender documentation
  • Lead procurement activities, including vendor evaluation and equipment selection (e.g. switchgear, transformers, drives, instrumentation)
  • Lead, mentor, and develop engineering teams, driving performance and capability growth
  • Build and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships, supporting technical discussions and business development
  • Champion safety, compliance, and continuous improvement across engineering practices and project delivery

 About you

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (essential)
  • 15+ years’ project delivery experience within an engineering consultancy or large-scale organisation; construction experience highly regarded
  • Demonstrated experience leading Electrical Engineering teams on complex projects
  • Significant experience in electrical and instrumentation design
  • Strong knowledge of power systems engineering, including ETAP or similar tools
  • Proven experience across study phases (OoM, PFS, FS), FEED, and detailed design
  • Solid understanding of multi-disciplinary engineering environments
  • Working knowledge of engineering standards and codes (ISO, AS, ANSI, API, etc.)
  • Experience contributing to and leading design reviews
  • Sound understanding of project delivery lifecycle and engineering work processes
  • Exposure to trend and change management practices
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience in engineering, operations, or research environments
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including stakeholder engagement
