About the Role

Reporting to the Project Director, the Project Engineering Manager will lead multidisciplinary engineering activities across the execution of large-scale EPC/EPCM Mining & Metals projects. This role is responsible for ensuring engineering excellence from detailed design through construction and commissioning, driving collaboration, constructability, and technical governance to achieve safe, high-quality, and cost-effective project delivery.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead multidisciplinary engineering teams across Civil, Mechanical, Piping, Electrical, Instrumentation, Automation, and Process disciplines.
  • Manage engineering execution throughout the project lifecycle, from Detailed Engineering through construction support and commissioning.
  • Coordinate engineering activities using BIM as the primary multidisciplinary design and coordination platform.
  • Lead the transition between FEL, FEED, and Detailed Engineering phases, ensuring technical continuity and execution readiness.
  • Drive engineering planning and support the development and progression of CAPEX estimates, including AACE Class 5 through Class 1 estimates.
  • Manage Field Engineering activities, including construction technical support, RFI/TQ resolution, engineering changes, and as-built documentation.
  • Ensure engineering solutions incorporate constructability principles and deliver measurable improvements in construction productivity, schedule, and field efficiency.
  • Implement and oversee Advanced Work Packaging (AWP) methodologies throughout project execution.
  • Manage engineering change control, evaluating impacts on cost, schedule, quality, and construction methodology.
  • Support technical proposal development, including engineering scope definition, resource planning, MTO preparation, man-hour estimates, and technical documentation.
  • Manage engineering subcontracts and engineering-related procurement packages aligned with the overall project execution strategy.
  • Foster collaboration across Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Project Controls, and Commissioning teams to ensure successful project delivery.

 

About You

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, Industrial, or a related discipline).
  • Minimum of 20 years of engineering experience, including at least 15 years supporting the execution of large-scale EPC/EPCM projects.
  • Extensive experience delivering Mining & Metals projects, preferably large-scale greenfield and brownfield developments.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience developing engineering deliverables using BIM platforms such as AVEVA, Autodesk, or Hexagon.
  • Proven experience leading multidisciplinary engineering organizations on complex capital projects.
  • Strong understanding of project execution methodologies, engineering governance, constructability, Field Engineering, and AWP.
  • Demonstrated experience managing engineering interfaces, technical risks, and engineering change management.
  • Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, communication, and decision-making skills, with the ability to lead high-performing engineering teams in complex project environments.
