We are actively expanding our talented team to support this momentum, and we’re excited to be recruiting for as Senior Estimator to join our growing project execution team, This role can be based in Brisbane, Newcastle or Adelaide.

As a Senior Estimator, you will lead the preparation of capital cost estimates for EPCM project execution in line with Ausenco’s procedures and standards. You will work closely with project management, project controls and engineering to provide accurate, timely estimates that support decision‑making throughout project delivery.

 

About the role

  • Prepare robust capital cost estimates for EPCM project execution, in accordance with Ausenco estimating procedures and systems
  • Lead estimate planning, data collection and input, and coordinate regular estimate reviews with the project team
  • Ensure current market conditions, subcontractor pricing and execution strategies are reflected in all estimates
  • Manage estimate changes and variations, working closely with Project Managers, Project Controls and Engineering to incorporate scope and design changes
  • Partner with Project Controls to support budget development, forecasting and trending of changes during project execution
  • Liaise with engineering disciplines to obtain quantities and technical inputs in the required format and timeframes
  • Maintain and develop estimating databases, norms and return cost information from executed projects for use in future estimates
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to support best value outcomes for cost and quality
  • Provide guidance and support other team members, promoting consistency in estimating practices
  • Actively role‑model Ausenco’s values, with a strong focus on safety, sustainability, clients, people and financial performance

 

About you

  • Extensive experience in cost estimating within engineering, resources or heavy industrial projects, ideally in an EPCM environment
  • Minimum of around 10 years’ experience in a similar estimating role with an engineering consulting or project delivery organization
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles and construction methodologies, with practical appreciation of project execution.
  • Proficient with database‑driven estimating systems and Microsoft Office.
  • High attention to detail, with the ability to clearly document estimate bases, sources and assumptions.
  • Confident communicator, able to collaborate effectively with Project Managers, Project Controls, Engineering and external partners at all levels
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver to deadlines.

  • Suitable tertiary qualifications
