An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Designer based in our Burlington Office.  We are looking for someone with passion and drive, who is highly organized and can ensure that our high standard of quality is maintained. With varied of studies, engineering, procurement and construction options, your skilled guidance in influencing project plan execution is crucial to the delivery of sustainable and successful outcomes for our clients.

About the role:

  • Generate conceptual overall site and process plant layouts, working with engineering disciplines such as civil, mechanical and process.
  • Prepare mechanical layout and detail drawings in line with project requirements.
  • Deliver design drafting according to required project timeframes and standards by coordinating and supervising project members and reviewing deliverables. 
  • Liaise with engineers for direction, specifications, and feedback
  • Maintain consistent design drafting standards across projects by communicating expectations and holding project members to account for standards. 
  • Comply with all of Ausenco corporate policies and procedures by adopting Ausenco Quality Assurance and Occupational Health, Safety, and Environment policies, procedures and requirements. 

About you

  • 5-8 years of relevant experience in site plans, mechanical layout and design drafting of Mineral Processing Plants, specifically gold and copper plants
  • Experience in layout design of crushing, materials handling, grinding, flotation, CIL/CIP, slurry pumping, slurry agitation, particle size classification, separation and filtration would be highly regarded. 
  • Experience in materials handling preferred (conveyors, chutes, reclaim, crushing)
  • Experience producing high level 3D models with AutoDesk
  • Advanced diploma or equivalent in engineering technology or drafting
  • Experience in the development of layouts for studies 
  • Knowledge of the mining and mineral processing industry. 
  • Proven ability to manage, motivate and influence employees at all levels. 
  • Well-developed written and oral skills. 
  • Willingness to travel when required
