We are currently looking for a Digital Knowledge Manager to join our team based in our Toronto or Vancouver office

Reporting to the VP, Digital, this role is responsible for capturing, curating and disseminating knowledge assets across multiple digital platforms and systems. The Digital Knowledge Manager will work with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and up-to-date information is readily available to support day-to-day business operations.

This role is instrumental in fostering a culture of knowledge sharing that leads to increased productivity, streamlined processes, and improved customer experiences. It requires a blend of technical expertise, organizational skills, and strategic thinking to be successful in effectively managing digital knowledge.

About the Role

As a Digital Knowledge Manager you will be responsible for:

Knowledge Management Strategy:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive knowledge management strategy aligned with the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Develop processes for capturing and creating knowledge from various sources, including internal experts, documentation, research, and external resources.
  • Identify areas for improvement and propose innovative approaches to enhance knowledge sharing and collaboration.

Content Creation and Curation:

  • Create, curate, and update content, including documents, presentations, case studies, digital assets, manuals, FAQs, and other knowledge-based materials.
  • Ensure content is accurate, relevant, and follows best practices for easy accessibility and user-experience.

Content Organization and Taxonomy:

  • Establish a well-structured taxonomy and metadata system to categorize and organize knowledge assets effectively.
  • Regularly review and optimize the taxonomy to keep pace with organizational changes and industry trends.

Knowledge Capture and Validation:

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and stakeholders to capture business knowledge and convert it into assets.
  • Implement processes to update and review content regularly to reflect changes in the organization and industry.
  • Validate and verify information for accuracy and consistency, ensuring a reliable knowledge base.

Digital Platforms and Tools:

  • Manage and administer digital knowledge management platforms, such as intranets, databases, wikis, and other content repositories.
  • Design and maintain systems to allow employees to access relevant knowledge efficiently and quickly.

Performance Metrics and Analysis:

  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness and impact of knowledge management initiatives.
  • Analyze data to identify areas for improvement and make data-driven decisions.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Stay up to date with industry trends, tools, methodologies, and emerging technologies in knowledge management.
  • Propose and implement improvements to optimize knowledge management practices continually.

About You

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in information science, knowledge management, business administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in knowledge management, content management, or a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of knowledge management principles, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Familiarity with digital knowledge management systems and tools.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to extract insights from data and make informed decisions.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and a passion for continuous learning.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and build positive working relationships.

Salary range: $80,000 - $90,000 

Expected Salary: Variation in salary is determined by factors such as qualifications, relevant years of experience, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.
