Estimate Control, Manager SOAM

Our team in South America is growing, we are currently recruiting for an Estimate Control Manager, SOAM to join our  Regional Project Services team in the Santiago office.

About the role 

  • Guide the estimation team by into having updated estimates, collect and enter data, and engage in preparing reviews for complex stages in projects.  
  • Assure the team develops cost estimation skills through the collaboration of all the actors that come together in the development of a project. 
  • Provide mentorship to all team member to support the development of skills and promote a growth culture.
  • Monitor to secure high standard for estimates by utilizing existing and new computer systems and adhering to current and standard estimating procedures developed by the Company or provided by clients. 
  • Manage the preparation of feasibility, pre-feasibility, definitive, appropriation, budget control estimates and checking the estimates. 
  • Prepare risk analysis reports, cost estimate reviews, analysis and reports.
  • Collect, maintain and develop the return cost information from executed projects and the representation of that information for use in forward estimating processes.
  • Secure adherence to time constraints and the preparation and presentation of clear concise estimate basis details.
  • Comply with relevant business management system (or quality) policies and procedures. 
  • Ensure the project control personnel understand the estimate scope of work and assist in the setup of the project budget.
  • Ensure the estimating team is involved with trending of changes during the project.
  • Maintain good working relationship with all stakeholders and key personnel in the projects through effective and permanent communication strategies. 
  • Work in accordance and promote Ausenco’s values, demonstrate commitment, active involvement and leadership regarding safety, sustainability, client, people, and financial accountabilities. 

About you 

  • Completion of a university degree in Mechanical, Civil Construction or Civil Engineering.
  • 15+ years of proven work experience in Capital Cost Estimation with an engineering consulting firm or other organization (mining or construction).
  • Solid knowledge of construction and assembly prices in mining infrastructure projects; capacity to elaborate unit prices for construction activities in industrial projects. 
  • Ideally - Management of Capex estimation of project with a budget of more than 5 million USD. (Non mandatory)
  • Knowledge and advanced management of all the elements and concepts that constitute a cost estimate, such as: direct costs, indirect costs of the construction contractor, indirect project costs, provisions or allowances, owner costs, contingencies, among others. 
  • Proven team management experience.
  • Ability to interact with staff at all levels of the organization.  
  • Professional English level (Mandatory).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to present information in a succinct
