Our team in Brazil is growing, we are currently recruiting for a Geotechnical Designer, Intermediate to join our Global Consulting  Business line in the in Belo Horizonte office.

About the role:

  • Develop and produce conceptual and detailed geotechnical design drawings for mining and civil infrastructure projects, including waste rock dumps, tailings storage facilities (TSFs), mining dams, earthworks, drainage systems, and retaining structures.

  • Translate geotechnical reports, design criteria, and engineering calculations into accurate, clear, and construction‑ready drawings and layouts.

  • Support the layout and detailed design of slope geometries, embankments, drainage systems, geotechnical instrumentation, and construction sequencing for mining-related geotechnical structures.

  • Coordinate closely with geotechnical engineers and multidisciplinary design teams to ensure drawings are technically sound, constructable, and aligned with project requirements.

  • Incorporate review comments, design changes, and site feedback into revised drawings, ensuring compliance with drawing standards, quality requirements, and document control procedures.

About you:

  • Technical diploma or bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mining Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D for geotechnical and mining infrastructure design drawings.
  • Solid understanding of geotechnical principles related to earthworks, embankments, slope design, and containment structures such as waste dumps, tailings storage facilities, and mining dams.
  • Ability to interpret geotechnical investigations and laboratory test results (desired) and engineering calculations.
  • Familiarity with mining-related design standards, geotechnical best practices (e.g., GISTM, NBRs, NRMs), and dam safety concepts (e.g., drainage systems, stability considerations, and monitoring layouts).
  • Strong attention to detail, version control, and drafting standards within multidisciplinary project environments.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with mining geotechnical designs of waste rock, TSFs, dams etc.
