We are seeking an experienced and proactive HSE Lead to join a flagship project in the Philippines. This role offers an exceptional opportunity for a seasoned HSE professional to lead and oversee health, safety, and environmental performance across all phases of project delivery. The position will be employed by an agency in the Philippines on behalf of our client, but will be managed by Ausenco. The successful candidate will travel extensively to site and ensure alignment with our client’s HSE Management Plan while embedding Ausenco’s safety culture and standards.

 

About the Role

As the HSE Lead, you will provide leadership and strategic guidance to ensure world-class HSE practices are implemented and maintained throughout the project lifecycle. Working closely with Ausenco’s project leadership team and client representatives, you will drive compliance, continuous improvement, and a proactive safety culture across all site activities

 

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the implementation of the client’s HSE Management Plan while ensuring alignment with Ausenco’s internal systems and standards.
  • Overseeing all HSE activities on site, including audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
  • Developing and maintaining project-specific HSE plans, emergency response procedures, and environmental management strategies.
  • Providing expert guidance to project managers, contractors, and site personnel to mitigate HSE risks.
  • Managing contractor HSE performance, including prequalification, onboarding, and ongoing compliance monitoring.
  • Driving incident investigations using ICAM methodology and ensuring lessons learned are embedded into project practices.
  • Fostering collaborative relationships with client representatives, contractors, and Ausenco teams to promote a unified safety culture.
  • Reporting on HSE performance metrics and ensuring regulatory and contractual compliance.
  • Extensive travel to site locations within the Philippines.

 

About You

To excel in this role, you will bring:

  • 10+ years of HSE experience within EPCM, construction, mining, or oil and gas projects.
  • A minimum of an Advanced Diploma in Health and Safety or equivalent qualification.
  • Formal ICAM training with demonstrated experience in leading incident investigations.
  • Strong knowledge of project risk assessment, contractor management, and regulatory compliance.
  • Proven ability to lead HSE programs on large-scale projects in challenging environments.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HSE management systems.
  • A pragmatic, collaborative, and solutions-focused approach to problem-solving.
