Senior Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer - México

Our team in Mexico is growing; we are currently recruiting for an Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer to join our Project Delivery Business line in the Mexico Office Hermosilla.

About the role

  • Collaborating with the engineering and design team from FEED through scoping and Detailed Engineering to Construction support.
  • Developing capital cost estimates for feasibility study and detail engineering proposals
  • Monitoring costs associated with the selection, cost and installation of Instrumentation and Control System equipment.
  • Experience programming PLC.
  • Design instrumentation related engineering deliverables, i.e. instrument indexes, installation details, location drawings, datasheets, wiring drawings, loop drawings, P&ID's, material requisitions, evaluation of alternatives and selection of instruments, calculations (control valve, flow elements, pressure safety valves), document control logs, bill of materials and instrument change approvals, construction work package.
  • Design controls related engineering deliverables, i.e., logic drawings, termination/ wiring diagrams, block diagrams, panel layouts, control system topology/ control system architecture, control narrative, and cable schedule.
  • Participates in HAZOP reviews and in other technical, constructability and quality reviews.
  • Participate in drawings review to ensure accuracy, completeness and quality of technical information and project documentation in accordance with QA/QC programs.

 

About you

  • Bachelor’s in electrical engineering, electronic engineering, mechatronics engineering, Instrumentation or related field.
  • At least 5 years of progressive experience as an instrumentation and control engineer in heavy industry is required.
  • Experience working within an EPCM environment is preferred.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical, communication (oral and written) and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, multi-task and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary project team including process, mechanical, civil-structural, electrical, instrumentation and CAD support
  • Working knowledge of codes, standards, regulations, and practices.
  • Familiarity with hardware requirements of PLC, SCADA and DCS control systems.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Advanced written and oral skills in English and in Spanish.
