Our team is growing; we are currently recruiting for Senior Mechanical Engineers to join our Newcastle office.

About the role 

  • Contribute to the delivery of multi-disciplinary engineering designs and studies, from concept through to execution.  
  • Prepare technical reports related to specific design issues.  
  • Undertake design activities as part of larger multi-disciplinary design teams to deliver minerals processing and mine infrastructure projects.
  • Prepare equipment procurement packages, designs, calculations and cost estimates for conventional engineering, research, and development assignments.  
  • Develop networks and relationships within teams, across the organisation and with clients.  
  • Assist with the preparation of proposals and tenders (such as estimating design hours).  
  • Opportunities to lead design packages working with a team of mechanical engineers
     

About you 

  • Degree qualification in Mechanical Engineering.  
  • Experience in engineering consulting and EPC/EPCM projects preferably in the mining and resources sectors
  • Technical expertise in designing wet mechanical systems such as process plant, pumps, piping, and pipelines
  • Design experience using Hexagon, Fluidflow, Hammer etc highly regarded.  
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a larger multi-disciplinary design team.
  • Project and/or site experience highly regarded.  
  • Sound understanding of current codes and standards including Australian and ASME.  
  • Proven ability to autonomously monitor workload, remaining within assigned budget and schedule constraints and alert supervisor if the budget estimate will be exceeded.
