Our team in Brazil is growing, we are currently recruiting for a Constructability Engineer, Senior to join our Minerals and Metals Business line in the in Belo Horizonte office.

 

About the role:

This role plays a key part in enhancing project readiness, improving execution certainty, and maximizing project value throughout the entire project lifecycle. As a subject matter expert, you will provide constructability leadership and technical guidance across studies, engineering, procurement, and construction phases, helping project teams identify and address potential construction challenges early in the project development process.

Working closely with project managers, engineering disciplines, clients, and construction contractors, you will drive the implementation of constructability best practices, support stage-gate project reviews, and contribute to the successful delivery of major capital projects:

  • Lead the implementation and application of constructability processes and best practices across intermediate and major projects.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to Project Managers and multidisciplinary teams on constructability opportunities and execution strategies.
  • Facilitate collaboration between engineering, procurement, construction, client, and contractor teams to optimize project outcomes.
  • Review project deliverables and provide independent assessments related to constructability, safety in design, construction planning, and HSEC requirements.
  • Support stage-gate project reviews by providing technical recommendations, constructability assessments, and execution risk evaluations.
  • Ensure constructability recommendations are appropriately incorporated into engineering deliverables, project plans, and execution strategies.
  • Identify opportunities to improve construction methodologies, sequencing, logistics, modularization, and pre-assembly approaches.
  • Contribute to project risk management by evaluating potential impacts on scope, cost, schedule, quality, operability, and maintainability.
  • Develop and promote innovative construction strategies that improve project performance and capital efficiency.
  • Support the development and delivery of constructability training, coaching, and mentoring initiatives across project teams.
  • Provide technical expertise regarding installation access, equipment handling, material flow, and field execution planning.

About you

You are an experienced engineering and construction professional with a strong background in delivering large-scale industrial and mining projects. You bring extensive knowledge of construction methodologies, project execution strategies, and constructability principles, combined with the ability to influence stakeholders and drive practical solutions across complex project environments.

You are recognized for your technical expertise, collaborative mindset, and ability to identify opportunities that improve safety, efficiency, schedule performance, and overall project outcomes.

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • Postgraduate qualification or specialization in Project Management, Construction Management, or a related field is considered an asset.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in construction management, project execution, or constructability roles within Owner, EPC, or EPCM organizations.
  • Proven experience supporting large-scale industrial projects, preferably within the mining sector.
  • Extensive knowledge of construction methodologies for greenfield and brownfield projects, preferably within large mining developments.
  • Strong understanding of project delivery models, including EPC, EPCM, and integrated Owner-led delivery approaches.
  • Demonstrated expertise in constructability processes and their implementation throughout project development and execution phases.
  • Broad understanding of engineering standards, industry regulations, and HSEC requirements.
  • Ability to evaluate complex technical challenges objectively and collaboratively while considering engineering, procurement, construction, and total cost of ownership perspectives.
  • Experience interfacing with client teams, engineering groups, contractors, and construction management teams.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and influencing skills.
  • Strong leadership, mentoring, and relationship-building capabilities.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, resilient, and capable of working with a high degree of autonomy.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, facilitation, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
  • Intermediate to advanced English proficiency required.
  • Previous experience within Owner, EPC, or EPCM project environments.
