We are currently seeking an energetic and enthusiastic Contracts Manager (site based).

About the role

  • Contract Negotiation, Drafting, and Execution: Lead the preparation, negotiation, drafting, and execution of contracts for a range of projects. Ensure that contracts meet the company's legal, financial, and operational objectives while minimizing risk and maximizing profitability.
  • Collaboration with Director, Contracts & Procurement: Work closely with the Director, Contracts & Procurement - Project Execution Services, to ensure all project-specific documentation adheres to company standards and aligns with both project needs and the broader organizational goals. Ensure the integration of contract management strategies with the overall project execution plan.
  • Pre-Contract Award Activities: Depending on project size, scope, and complexity, the Contracts Manager may administer and/or support the creation and management of tender documents, assist with vendor selection processes, and help ensure that all pre-contract processes are properly executed, including due diligence, risk assessments, and compliance checks. Provide guidance to project teams on contract terms and requirements during the bidding and negotiation phases.
  • Post-Contract Award Activities: Oversee the execution of post-award activities, including contract signing, ensuring that all conditions are met, and monitoring compliance throughout the project lifecycle. Administer contract changes, amendments, and claims management as necessary. Ensure that contractual obligations, timelines, and cost structures are adhered to.
  • Risk Management & Compliance: Identify, assess, and mitigate risks related to contracts. Work closely with legal teams to address complex legal and contractual issues. Ensure that all contracts comply with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies. Continuously monitor project contracts for adherence to terms and conditions.
  • Contract Performance Monitoring: Actively monitor contract performance, ensuring that deliverables are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. Collaborate with project teams to resolve any issues related to contract execution and performance.
  • Resourcing and Staffing for Contracts Team: Provide support in identifying resourcing and staffing needs for the North America contracts team based on project requirements. Assist in the recruitment, onboarding, and allocation of resources to ensure the contracts team is appropriately staffed for each project phase. Work with Director Procurement & Contracts, P&P and project management teams to align personnel with project timelines, complexity, and workload demands.
  • Manage Daily Activities of the Contracts Team: Oversee and manage the daily operations of the Project Contracts team, ensuring that tasks are prioritized and executed in a timely manner. Provide leadership and guidance, ensuring efficient workflow and performance across all contract management activities. Foster a collaborative and supportive environment that encourages continuous improvement.
  • Ongoing Coaching and Development: Provide project specific coaching, training, and development to members of the Contracts team. Support the growth of team members by identifying opportunities for skill enhancement and ensuring the team is equipped with the knowledge and tools needed to effectively manage contracts.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration & Dispute Resolution: Facilitate communication between internal teams (e.g., legal, procurement, project management) and external stakeholders (e.g., clients, contractors, suppliers). Act as the primary point of contact for addressing contract-related disputes and ensure timely and effective resolution.
  • Contract Closeout: Ensure all contracts are properly closed out at the end of the project, including finalizing payments, obtaining necessary approvals, and maintaining accurate documentation for auditing and future reference.
  • Use of Company Software Tools: Support and promote the use of company-specific software tools and systems, such as Hexagon, to streamline contract management processes. Assist in the training and adoption of these tools to ensure efficiency and compliance throughout the contract lifecycle.
  • Reporting & Documentation: Maintain comprehensive records of contracts, amendments, and related documentation. Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on contract status, issues, risks, and compliance.

About you

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, law, or a related field.
  • years of experience in contracts management, ideally within the project execution, construction, or engineering industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of contract law, construction/project management contracts, and risk management practices.
  • Proven track record of drafting, negotiating, and managing complex contracts, particularly in project execution environments.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams and with external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in contract management software and Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with Hexagon or other industry-specific software tools is a strong advantage.
  • Ability to manage multiple contracts simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.

Preferred:

  • Certification in Contract Management (e.g., CCM, CPCM) or a related field.
  • Experience with international contracts and multi-jurisdictional agreements.
  • Knowledge of the construction or engineering industries and project execution environments.
  • Familiarity with project management and procurement processes.
