We are looking for a Field biologist to be a part of high-performing team supporting both large and small projects. You have experience conducting biophysical assessments and are looking to be mentored by the best in the industry to further develop your skills. This is a casual role expected to run from March to October 2026, supporting exciting upcoming projects — with the potential for extension!

About the role:

  • Conducting bird and bat mortality (carcass searches and collections) monitoring for wind farms.
  • Working remotely, sometimes for extended periods on projects, and walking long distances under the guidance of senior staff and other biologists
  • Implementing Ausenco processes and approaches (e.g., project management, quality program) to ensure that schedule, cost and quality objectives for project deliverables are achieved
  • Developing annual monitoring reports
  • Working in accordance with environmental compliance and industry best management practices and mitigation measures related to construction projects

 About you:

  • A university degree in Wildlife Biology
  • One to Three years of relevant professional experience
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, particularly technical writing
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
  • A willingness to learn and innovate
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a team
  • Willingness to be on site conducting post construction
  • Willingness to work in a work schedule of 4 days on site and 3 days off. Sometimes it’s 4.5 on and 2.5 off, depending on competition of all turbine searches during the 4-day period.
  • Willingness to work long hours on site and walking long distances.
  • A valid Alberta driver’s license with a clean driver abstract
