You'll play a key role in critical project phases, from Basic Engineering and Detailed Engineering to Construction, gaining hands-on experience across a variety of commodities. We are currently seeking an energetic and enthusiastic Junior Piping Designer to be based in either Burlington or the Calgary office. If you’re the right person for the job, we are open to discussing you being located in another office location.

About the role

• Drawing production including generation of piping drawings, isometrics, tie-in lists, valve list and equipment lists. 
• Deliver drafting according to key deliverables by analyzing specifications, highlighting issues, and preparing detailed drawings in line with project requirements.
• Work with other disciplines in the overall assignment to coordinate designs.
• Plan, organize and coordinate technical aspects of one or more projects.
• Ensure that objectives related to quality, quantity, cost and scheduling are met.
• Maintain consistent drafting standards across projects by adhering to Ausenco drafting standards.
• Work effectively as a member of multi-functional project teams.

About you

• 1-3 years of relevant experience including the design of piping systems and the layout of process equipment.
• Basic understanding of the design and maintenance of stationary and, rotating equipment.
• Working knowledge of and experience in using ASME and CSA Codes & Standards.
• Design experience in minerals and metals sector is an asset.
• Demonstrated proficiency with AutoCAD is required.
• Experience with SmartPlant Piping and P&ID is strongly valued.
• SPED Professional Piping Designer Level II considered a definite asset.
