We are looking for a Planner to join our team based in South Brisbane. This role will involve providing the Planning & Scheduling from studies through to execution that promotes accurate, reliability, efficiency, and optimum performance. This role would suit someone with strong experience in engineering design, consulting or delivery of site projects in the mining and resources sectors.

About the role

  • Lead the development, integration, baselining, tracking and ongoing management of project schedules across the full project lifecycle, including Concept Studies, Pre-Feasibility Studies (Pre-FS), Feasibility Studies (FS), Bankable Feasibility Studies (BFS), Detailed Design, Procurement, and Execution phases.
  • Establish and maintain integrated project schedules that accurately reflect engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and operational readiness activities.
  • Establish robust schedule coding structures, reporting frameworks, and planning governance standards to enable effective project controls and performance monitoring.
  • Conduct detailed schedule analysis, critical path assessments, schedule health checks, and look-ahead reviews, providing expert recommendations to Study Managers and Project Managers on recovery strategies and opportunities to improve project performance.
  • Incorporate approved scope changes, project risks, emerging trends, and schedule impacts into the integrated project schedule while maintaining baseline integrity.
  • Support project leadership through proactive schedule risk identification, scenario modelling, and decision-support planning analysis.
  • Work across multiple concurrent brownfield and sustaining capital projects, ensuring consistency of planning standards and reporting methodologies.
  • Logical approach to shutdown planning for brownfield projects.
  • Provide clear, concise, and insightful schedule commentary and performance analysis for monthly project reporting, including plan-versus-actual progress, variance analysis, forecast completion dates, and mitigation strategies.

About You

  • Extensive experience in project planning, scheduling, and project controls within the minerals, metals, resources, or consulting engineering environment.
  • Proven capability in developing, baselining, and managing schedules across studies, detailed design, procurement, and project execution phases.
  • A tertiary qualification in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, or a related discipline is highly regarded.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Project
  • Good working knowledge of P6
  • Strong understanding of engineering design processes and discipline interfaces, including Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Process, Electrical and Controls
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse schedule performance and provide practical, value-adding recommendations to Study Managers and Project Managers to achieve project objectives.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with experience working collaboratively with engineers, project managers, contractors, and vendors, supported by leadership, mentoring, or coaching capability.
