As a result of a growing pipeline of awarded work across diverse commodities in critical minerals and metals across WA and Africa, we’re seeking a talented Principal Process Engineer to join our growing team in our Perth CBD office.

Reporting into the Manager of Process, you will lead specialized design engineering according to project deliverables. Providing expertise, support, and direction to Ausenco’s engineers this critical role will help drive the success of our projects.

About the role 

  • Work in accordance with Ausenco’s values, demonstrating leadership in safety, sustainability, client, people, and financial accountabilities.
  • Motivate and mentor direct reports, providing ongoing training and guidance.
  • Ensure all personnel follow contract requirements and maintain engineering standards across projects.
  • Build and maintain client relationships, seeking opportunities to increase customer satisfaction.
  • Prepare engineering proposals and budgets, manage schedules, and ensure objectives of cost, quality, and time are met.
  • Control and coordinate the design engineering function within a discipline, reviewing all discipline-related technical documentation.
  • Provide technical expert advice on designs, engineering processes, and unique methods.
  • Liaise with construction personnel for hand-over of plants, conduct inspections, and resolve issues as required.

 

About you 

  • Bachelor’s degree in applied science or engineering (or international equivalent).
  • Demonstrated experience in designing comminution circuits, developing comminution testwork programs. Circuit audits and optimisation experience highly regarded
  • Licensed with the applicable regulatory associations.
  • 15+ years’ proven project management experience with predominant EPCM or similar engineering consulting firm experience
  • Possess process engineering experience in base metals and critical minerals 
  • Prior supervisory experience in industry-related operations or research.
  • Strong technical computer skills and understanding of financial reports and project budgets.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills across diverse cultures
  • Commitment to continuous learning and efficient, economical designs.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deliver on time and under budget.
  • Commercial sense and experience developing business with clients.
  • Leadership and mentoring abilities.
