We are looking for a Project Electrical HV Coordinator (NPI) experienced in mining projects to join our team to support recent business success and growth. You will have a strong background in high voltage (HV) systems and substation construction to support the delivery of major mining and minerals projects. This is a site-based role responsible for supervising electrical construction activities across HV infrastructure and power distribution systems in remote project environments.

The position operates on a rostered FIFO rotation and requires strong leadership capability in remote construction environments.

About the role

  • Supervise daily electrical construction activities associated with HV infrastructure and substation installation works.
  • Lead and coordinate electrical trades, subcontractors, vendors, and commissioning personnel on site.
  • Ensure all works are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, standards, and project procedures.
  • Oversee installation, testing, and commissioning support for HV equipment and electrical systems.
  • Monitor compliance with HSE requirements, permit systems, isolation procedures, and electrical safety standards.
  • Conduct toolbox talks, pre-start meetings, field inspections, and safety observations.
  • Coordinate construction sequencing and interface activities with civil, structural, mechanical, and commissioning teams.
  • Review IFC drawings, schematics, cable schedules, switching procedures, and technical documentation.
  • Track and report construction progress, workforce productivity, material requirements, and site issues.
  • Support QA/QC activities including inspections, test packs, punch lists, and turnover documentation.
  • Assist with energization planning and commissioning readiness activities.

The role may oversee:

  • HV and MV power distribution systems.
  • Substation construction and installation.
  • Transformers, switchgear, and protection systems.
  • HV cable installation and terminations.
  • Earthing and lightning protection systems.
  • MCCs, switch rooms, and E-houses.
  • Overhead and underground power infrastructure.
  • Electrical infrastructure for mining and mineral processing facilities.

About you

  • 15 years’ experience in electrical construction supervision within mining, minerals, oil & gas, or heavy industrial projects.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering HV and substation projects in remote construction environments.
  • Strong understanding of electrical installation, testing, commissioning, and energization processes.
  • Experience supervising electrical subcontractors and multi-disciplinary site teams.
  • Ability to interpret electrical drawings, schematics, single line diagrams, and technical specifications.
  • Solid understanding of HV safety requirements, isolation procedures, and permit-to-work systems.
  • Electrical trade qualification and relevant electrical license.
  • HV switching certification and/or commissioning exposure highly regarded.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Safety-focused with a proactive approach to risk management.
  • Ability to perform effectively in remote, fast-paced project environments.
  • Organized and capable of managing multiple priorities and interfaces.
  • Collaborative team player with strong problem-solving capability.
