Our team in Chile is growing, we are currently recruiting for a Geochemical Engineer, Senior to join our Earth & Environment Business line in the in Santiago office.

About the role 

  • The position can be based in Chile, Brazil, Peru, or Argentina.
  • Work closely with our multi-disciplinary team of practice leaders providing support on large, international mining projects, mainly in South and North America.
  • Conduct geochemical characterization studies on tailings or waste rock and link those to expected groundwater and surface water impacts or risks.
  • Supervise reception, compiling and data processing of water quality data, geochemical (static) data, or kinetic data.
  • Help draft proposals, be involved in business development, panel reviews, workshops and review work.
  • Develop and maintain key client relationships and support growth of the team and business.
  • Support project design, permitting and environmental assessment of diverse projects by contributing your expertise in geochemistry and water quality assessment and management, ideally within the mining sector.
  • Work seamlessly with multi-disciplinary teams, including hydrogeologists, hydrologists, biologists, and engineers.
  • Provide expert support and advice within and outside of the organization.
  • Mentor and develop staff.

About you 

  • Recognized as an expert in geochemistry / water quality with a dedication to and passion for your discipline.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience providing waste and water quality management services within the mining sector. 
  • Consulting acumen, including an entrepreneurial spirit, strong self-direction, and overarching belief in client satisfaction.
  • Strong people skills and an ability to work in a team environment.
  • Experience in leading, mentoring, and training staff.
  • Experience with any of: GoldSim, PHREEQC, GWB, Leapfrog, ARCGIS
  • Proven verbal and written communication skills, with proficiency in English.
