Our team in Brazil is growing, we are currently recruiting for an Instrumentation Engineer, Senior to join our Minerals & Metals Business line in the in office.

About the role:

  • Lead and develop the multidisciplinary instrumentation, automation, and telecommunications team, composed of engineers, designers, and interns.
  • Monitor project execution from the conceptual phase through executive detailing, ensuring quality, schedule compliance, and adherence to the contracted scope.
  • Ensure technical compliance with standards, procedures, and client requirements, including best practices applicable to mining, steelmaking, and heavy industry.
  • Review and validate engineering deliverables, such as:
    • interconnection diagrams;
    • instrument lists;
    • I/O lists;
    • data sheets;
    • layouts and typical installation details;
    • automation and telecommunications network documentation.
  • Integrate interfaces with other engineering disciplines, such as electrical, mechanical, civil, and process engineering, ensuring technical compatibility.
  • Manage interfaces with clients and internal stakeholders, conducting technical meetings, alignments, and issue resolution.
  • Ensure the application of corporate standards, lessons learned, and engineering methodologies, including BIM practices when applicable.
  • Promote standardization and continuous improvement of engineering processes, aiming at productivity, technical consistency, and reduction of rework.
  • Ensure the technical quality of delivery packages, focusing on traceability, review processes, document consistency, and compliance with project requirements.
  • Support technical decision-making in complex situations by proposing alternatives and solutions compatible with schedule, cost, and performance.
  • Ensure a collaborative, ethical, and results-oriented work environment aligned with the company culture.

 

About you: 

  • Degree in Control and Automation Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
  • Solid technical background in instrumentation, automation, and telecommunications, with experience in multidisciplinary industrial projects.
  • Strong knowledge of project development in all phases, from pre-feasibility to executive design.
  • Applied knowledge of industrial instrumentation, including instrument selection, specification, and detailing.
  • Ability to develop and validate technical data sheets for the procurement of instruments and equipment.
  • Knowledge of industrial automation, including system architecture, controller integration, industrial networks, and operational interfaces.
  • Knowledge of industrial telecommunications, focusing on infrastructure, communication networks, and system integration.
  • Experience with configuration and specification of automation and telecommunications networks.
  • Experience with typical instrument installation details, considering engineering best practices and constructability.
  • Ability to coordinate interfaces with related disciplines, especially electrical, mechanical, civil, and process engineering.
  • Knowledge of applicable standards and procedures, including ANSI, ISO, and other technical standards relevant to the scope.
  • Experience with industrial projects in mining and steelmaking environments, with understanding of the sector’s typical requirements.
  • Ability to work with BIM methodologies, especially in Revit environments, when applicable to project development.
  • Proficiency in engineering and technical drawing tools, with focus on productivity, traceability, and document quality.
  • Engineering mindset focused on schedule, cost, quality, and safety while maintaining technical compliance.
  • Ability to technically review highly complex deliverables, ensuring consistency across documents and interfaces.
  • Knowledge of interfaces with procurement and supply chain, providing technical support for specifications, quotations, and purchasing.
  • Ability to identify technical risks and propose engineering solutions with a proactive and analytical approach.
  • Ability to drive technical standardization and continuous improvement, supporting the evolution of area processes.
  • English advanced.
