You'll play a key role in critical project phases, from Basic Engineering and Detailed Engineering to Construction, gaining hands-on experience across a variety of commodities. We are currently seeking an energetic and enthusiastic Lead Document Controller to be based in the Calgary or Vancouver office. If you’re the right person for the job, we are open to discussing you being located in another office location.

About the role

  • Provide project support for all project document control activities, ensuring timely and accurate management of incoming and outgoing deliverables, including vendor data.
  • Ensure that procedures and standards are adhered to in processing engineering documents, drawings and vendor data.
  • Track, transmit, and accurately file paper and electronic engineering documents, drawings and correspondence.
  • Liaising with the client and other departments, giving recommendations as required.
  • Perform File Transfer Protocol (FTP) site / SharePoint uploads and downloads as required.
  • Conduct document searches and generate reports as needed.
  • Archive all Project Documentation at Project Close-out.

About you

  • Diploma in a relevant field with 10+ years’ document control experience on mining EPC/EPCM projects.
  • Strong experience with SDX and knowledge of other electronic document management systems.
  • Familiarity with vendor databases; proficient in Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail, well organized and with ability to work well under deadlines.
  • Welcomes challenges and continuous skill development.
  • Has the ability to multitask and balance several competing priorities.
  • As this position requires significant amount of cooperation with other individuals, excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
