Ausenco’s pipeline consultancy group is expanding into Brisbane, building on our strong presence in Perth and our global footprint across five international offices. We’re seeking an experienced Lead Pipeline Engineer to establish and grow our Brisbane-based team. Ausenco already has a 200+ multidisciplinary mineral project delivery team in Brisbane and the role would support delivery of current mineral led projects in tailings and water transportation, development of pipeline led project opportunities and growing the pipeline and hydraulic capability in the Brisbane office
About the role
Lead the development of a new Brisbane pipeline engineering team, supporting delivery projects for Ausenco’s minerals business line.
Manage and execute project deliverables across all phases – from concept to execution
Build and maintain strong client relationships, understanding their business and technical needs
Coordinate multidisciplinary project teams across offices and business lines
Provide technical leadership on slurry and water pipeline projects, including tailings and borefields
Support proposal development, project planning, and budget monitoring
Mentor and develop junior engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence.
About you
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Process or Civil Engineering
Extensive experience in slurry hydraulics, pumping systems, and rheology
Proven track record in tailings and water pipeline design and/or operations
Familiarity with pipeline systems for a range of commodities
Strong understanding of project delivery phases and controls: Concept OoM, PFS, FS, and execution
Excellent communication skills, with experience in proposal writing and client presentations
Ability to lead teams, manage deadlines, and deliver high-quality outcomes
