We are currently looking for Lead Structural Engineers to join our team based in our Perth office to support recent business success and growth.
About the role
• Prepare engineering proposals and monitor budgets, staying within the assigned budget and report any discrepancies.
• Ensure Engineering Discipline Deliverables are completed according to standards, checked, approved, and issued to other disciplines and to the client with revision control documentation.
• Coordinate the activities of a project team to ensure time and budget objectives are achieved.
• Generate and review technical documents and deliverables related to business line technologies.
• Prepare specifications, design criteria, scope of work and material take-off.
• Complete tasks under minimal supervision ensuring that objectives of cost, quality and time are met.
• Maintain a high level of communication with the Engineering Manager and regularly inform of technical activities, staffing, budgets and schedules and explain reasons for actions taken.
• Contribute to the ongoing development of the Engineering Group to deliver best practice technical solutions and implementation by applying knowledge of industry developments and from experience.
• Communicate effectively with clients to identify needs and evaluate alternative solutions
About you
• Bachelor’s degree in applied science or engineering.
• 10+ years’ proven project management experience with an engineering consulting firm or other large organisation. Construction experience is desirable.
• Strong background in engineering technology, with superior demonstrated skills in the technical focus area.
• Proven ability to identify schedule/budget warning signs early.
• Demonstrated experience in the design of steel structures and concrete foundations for industrial and mining projects.
• Enhanced knowledge of the Engineering ISO, AS, ANSI, API etc. standard design codes.
• Lead and develop small team and train in new process and procedures.
• Prior experience in a supervisory capacity in industry related operations or research.
• Experienced in dealing with clients and contractors directly.
• Ability to work independently, as part of a team, and as part of a multidisciplinary group.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
