We are currently recruiting for a P6 Planner/Scheduler to join our Minerals & Metals business line in our Tucson office. This person will support our projects in the US Southwest. This role requires strong understanding of project planning concepts, processes and methodologies, as well as advanced level of P6 skills. It is essential for this individual has excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be able to identify critical issues and areas of improvement.

About the Role:

An experienced P6 Planner/Scheduler is responsible for developing, maintaining, and analyzing project schedules to support successful project delivery. Key responsibilities include:

  • Interacting with key project team members and client organization to develop project construction plans and master schedules.
  • Developing schedules using P6 software in collaboration with procurement, construction, and client representatives.
  • Baseline existing projects to schedule and cost parameters and metrics.
  • Creating WBS, Activity Coding, User-Defined Fields, and fully utilizing other technical aspects of P6 software to develop detailed schedules using full CPM techniques and resource loading.
  • Understanding and analyzing durations and logic of all phases of the project to ensure credibility of the schedule and to clearly convey critical and near-critical paths.
  • Providing scenario “what if” planning and quantitative risk analysis of schedule.
  • Providing leadership in interactive planning sessions and hosting/attending schedule review meetings with project management, clients, and other stakeholders.
  • Setting up, preparing, and maintaining weekly/monthly project and program reports including quantitative progress and analysis, schedule performance, cost forecasting and cash flow forecasting.

About you 

  • Degree or diploma in engineering, project management, business administration, and/or finance.
  • 5-7 years’ experience within Studies, EPC or EPCM environment
  • Must have experience in using project delivery systems eg, Oracle, Ecosys, P6, Hexagon, PRISM, and the understanding data interfaces is essential. Experience using PowerBI is a plus.
  • Have lead or been involved in the full lifecycle of the controls management on reimbursable projects.
  • Understand the requirements of project controls management utilising work breakdown structures within multiple systems to support data management interfaces eg. cost & progress control (EcoSys, PRISM), scheduling (P6), procurement & contracts), construction management etc
  • Well versed in all aspects of project controls, progress monitoring to plan, cost & commitment tracking, resource planning, cash flow reporting, change management, project analytics, management of site construction costs, project forecasting  etc
  • Experience in the development and implementation of new systems.
  • Experience in the development and updates of controls procedures, templates and work instructions.
  • Experience in implementing controls-reporting dashboards using PowerBI to support the delivery of projects.
  • Experience in preparing monthly/weekly project status reports contributing to the details on project deviations and mitigation plans.
