Our team in Western Canada is growing, we are currently recruiting for a Payroll Coordinator to join our Payroll Department in the Burnaby office to support the payroll department for employees in Canada, USA and Mexico to achieve accurate and timely preparation and processing of employee remuneration.

About the role

 

  • Help with regular and irregular payroll payments for new hires and terminations including allowances, severance, bonus, annual leave, and retroactive payments.
  • Assist with weekly timecard processing.
  • Reconcile benefit remittances.
  • Prepare ROE’s.
  • Respond to payroll queries in a professional, confidential, and timely manner.
  • Assist with year-end adjustments and reporting in Canada and USA including T4s, RL-1s and W-2s.
  • Support a variety of Mexico payroll related tasks
  • Assist with third party reporting, remittances, and reconciliations (WCB, WSIB, EHT, CRA, Revenue Quebec, RRSP, 401K, Benefits, other) and ensure accurate and timely submission of filings and payments.
  • Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure accurate accounting for vacation pay, bonuses, source deductions, remittances, allowances, etc.
  • Assist with payroll related documentation for external audits.
  • Perform back-up duties for team members during absence.
  • Manage ad-hoc projects including compliance audits for benefits and insurance.
  • Participate in special projects as they relate to payroll.

 

 

About you

  • Exposure to payroll processing in Canada and the USA including hiring, terminations, and hourly and salaried compensation packages is beneficial.
  • Advanced Microsoft office skills.
  • Experience with ADP WFN is beneficial.
  • Experience using Oracle is considered an asset.
  • Ability to interpret and apply payroll legislation in Canada and the USA  
  • Exposure to an engineering or consulting environment is an asset.
  • Excellent accuracy and attention to detail with the ability to stay on task to meet strict deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain confidential data in a professional manner.
  • The ability to interact effectively in a team environment.
  • The ability to work unsupervised.
  • Ability to build relationships across business units.

Salary range: $58,000 - $61,000

Expected Salary: Variation in salary is determined by factors such as qualifications, relevant years of experience, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.
