Our team in Chile is growing, and we are currently seeking a Process Engineer, Principal.

As a Principal Process Engineer, you will play a key role in the development and leadership of process engineering for concentrator plant projects, actively contributing across different stages of the project lifecycle.

About the rol:

  • Lead the development of process engineering solutions, from conceptual stages through detailed design, ensuring technical quality and alignment with project objectives.
  • Define design criteria, select processing technologies, and develop process configurations focused on operational efficiency and sustainability.
  • Oversee and validate key discipline deliverables, ensuring compliance with standards, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to integrate process engineering into the overall project development.
  • Contribute to technical and economic evaluations, supporting decision-making by considering performance, risks, and optimization opportunities.
  • Lead and mentor the process team, fostering technical development and excellence in execution.

About You

  • Hold a degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Mineral Processing, Extractive Metallurgy, or Chemical Engineering.
  • Bring 15+ years of experience in the mineral processing industry, including senior or lead engineering roles across consulting, EPCM delivery, and owner-side project execution.
  • Background spans concentrator projects, plant design, and operational environments, with expertise in flotation, comminution, tailings management, and testwork/process design for copper, molybdenum, gold, and polymetallic ore.
  • Hands-on operational experience in mines and metallurgical facilities, including plant optimization, improvement initiatives, commissioning, and ramp-up.
  • Strong capability in mill, concentrator, and metallurgical plant design, particularly for base and precious metals.
  • Solid understanding of engineering workflows, industry standards, codes, and process-related engineering software.
  • Advanced English level (C1 or higher).
  • Recognized for strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and develop sound technical solutions.
  • Adept at preparing technical proposals and conducting trade-off studies to optimize process configurations and maximize financial outcomes.
  • Value emerging technologies, maintaining a deep appreciation for current industry practices while actively seeking to understand and apply innovations.
