Our team is growing, and we are currently recruiting for a Project Controls Lead to join our team in our Brisbane office on a 6–12 month fixed-term contract, for an immediate start.

About the role 

As the Project Controls Lead, you will play a critical role on a major EPCM project, leading and guiding a small team of project controls professionals. You will be responsible for ensuring robust planning, cost control, reporting, and performance management across the project lifecycle.

  • Lead, mentor and manage a team of 3–4 project controls professionals, including cost controllers and a scheduler
  • Develop, maintain, and oversee integrated project schedules using tools such as Primavera P6 or MS Project
  • Ensure alignment between schedule, cost, and project deliverables across the EPCM framework
  • Monitor project progress against baseline plans and identify key variances and risks
  • Oversee project cost control processes including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
  • Provide accurate and timely reporting on schedule, cost, and performance to stakeholders
  • Support and lead change management processes, including impact assessment and documentation
  • Drive consistency and best practice across project controls systems and processes
  • Establish and maintain dashboards and KPIs to monitor project performance and health
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, engineering teams, and client representatives
  • Support risk identification, mitigation planning, and overall project governance
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, client requirements, and regulatory standards

About you 

  • 8–10 years’ experience in project controls within mining, construction, or infrastructure projects, preferably within an EPC or EPCM environment
  • Proven experience in a lead or senior project controls role, with team leadership responsibilities
  • Strong background in planning/scheduling and cost control (experience in both highly regarded)
  • Proficiency in project controls tools such as Primavera P6, MS Project, and cost management systems
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate schedule and cost data for reporting and forecasting
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex project data
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • High attention to detail and strong organisational capability
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel) and reporting tools
  • Experience with document management systems such as Aconex or SDx is advantageous
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative project environment
