Our Brazil Project Execution team is expanding to support a strong pipeline of EPC/EPCM projects within our Minerals & Metals business. We're seeking an experienced Project Controls, Manager to lead project controls activities across multiple project locations and contribute to both ongoing and future project delivery.

 

About the role

The Project Controls Manager would be responsible for providing strategic leadership across project controls functions, ensuring effective planning, scheduling, cost control, progress measurement, forecasting, and change management processes. This role would play a key part in supporting project delivery objectives, driving performance visibility, and providing critical decision-making insights to project leadership teams.

  • Leading and mentoring a team of Project Controls professionals across planning, cost control, reporting, and performance management.
  • Establishing and maintaining project controls frameworks, systems, and governance processes.
  • Overseeing project scheduling, cost management, forecasting, and progress measurement activities.
  • Driving project change management practices and ensuring impacts to scope, cost, and schedule are effectively assessed and communicated.
  • Supporting the development and review of project estimates, budgets, and resource plans.
  • Delivering comprehensive project reporting, including KPIs, earned value analysis, forecasts, cash flow projections, variance analysis, and executive dashboards.
  • Collaborating closely with Project Managers and key stakeholders to identify risks, opportunities, and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Contributing to value engineering and continuous improvement efforts across the project lifecycle.
  • Ensuring consistency of project controls methodologies and best practices across multiple projects or project phases.

 

About You

  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in engineering consultancy or professional services environment.
  • Proven experience in Project Controls leadership roles within EPC, EPCM, mining, infrastructure, energy, or major capital project environments.
  • Strong expertise in project planning, scheduling, cost control, forecasting, and performance reporting.
  • Hands-on experience with Primavera P6 and other project controls or cost management tools.
  • A solid understanding of project management principles and industry best practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and influence multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Experience managing complex projects with multiple interfaces and competing priorities.
  • Professional proficiency in English, with the ability to communicate effectively in international and multicultural environments.
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel and mobilize across different project locations within Brazil, as required.
  • A proactive, collaborative, and results-driven approach.
  • A degree in Engineering, Project Management, Business, Construction Management, or a related discipline is advantageous.
