Project Engineer (Mechanical)

We are currently looking for an EPCM experienced Project Engineer to join our team based in Perth to support business success and growth as a result of awarded work in industry enabling / powering minerals in Africa.  The successful candidate will have the right client and team focus, as well as a commitment to and enthusiasm for continuous improvement.

 

About the role

  • Effectively manage activities to ensure the successful delivery of the project on time, to budget and in accordance with Ausenco’s objectives.
  • Ensure that the project runs according to project plans with appropriately skilled staff are available at the required times to complete tasks.
  • Lead a team of engineers and technical support personnel in completing the assigned scope.
  • Manage the work in accordance with the project schedule and the project budget.
  • Managing effectively scope changes and trends – actively identify quantity, cost and time trends and management of the change process.
  • Maintain a professional and functional relationship with client personnel.
  • Travel to site as required
  • Unwavering dedication to safety and proven ability to achieve deadlines.

 

About you

  • Mechanical Engineering degree from a recognised tertiary institute
  • Ideally 2-5 years of experience working in mining and minerals studies and/or projects,
  • Previous experience in process plants and mining projects in operations or construction is essential
  • Substantial exposure to project scheduling, planning, cost control, estimating and reporting.
  • Outstanding communication skill and ability to develop rapport with internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • EPCM/EPC experience including supervision of contractors and field personnel will be looked upon favorably but not essential
  • Strong safety focus with demonstrated evidence of actively promoting and sustaining a Zero harm environment
