Our team in the US is growing. We are currently recruiting for a Senior Hydraulic Pipeline Engineer to join our team in our Calgary, Denver or Concord offices. We may be open to other locations.

 

About the Role

  • Define solutions, guide others, prevent future issues, and influence strategy for hydraulic pipeline design.
  • Perform steady state and transient hydraulic calculations for mineral and metals product slurries, tailings, and reclaimed mine water.
  • Identify options and optimizations, perform tradeoffs and cost analysis, recommend and justify engineering solutions in our Global Consulting Pipelines group.
  • Guide junior engineers in developing reports, specifications, and other technical documents that align with the project’s technical vision; review their work to ensure it contributes meaningful value and with attention to cross‑discipline impacts on the team. Author more complex technical documents.
  • Prepare scope of work and budgets for new work for project managers or act as study manager.
  • Represent the process hydraulic team on projects and collaborate with other multi-discipline teams consisting of engineers, designers and other specialists.
  • Take initiative in identifying new project opportunities by networking with other Ausenco engineering groups, strengthening team capabilities and performance, and building client relationships.

About You

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Civil, Mining, or similar Engineering field.
  • 10 – 15 years of previous experience working in an engineering consulting firm, EPC/EPCM firm, or similar environment.
  • Expertise with hydraulic pipeline calculations, design, and operation.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with a systems level understanding of how and why designs decisions should be made.
  • Demonstrated ability for mentorship, clear communication, and technical leadership.
  • Familiarity with project planning and execution from early studies to FEED level and detailed design.
  • Experience in client-facing roles.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Proven team player committed to support the requirements of project groups.
  • P.Eng. required if in Canada, PE is a plus if in the US
