Our team in Canada is growing, we are currently recruiting for a Senior/Lead Mechanical Engineer to join our Industrial and Infrastructure Business line in the Burnaby office.
About the Role
Deliver mechanical engineering design according to required timeframes and standards by supervising the performance of mechanical engineers, reviewing deliverables and providing high level technical expertise.
Facilitate the purchase of appropriate equipment by specifying requirements and assisting procurement with the purchase of equipment
Contribute to the cost-efficient delivery of mechanical engineering by managing the man hour budget and reviewing and approving mechanical capital cost estimates, recommending alternative approaches where possible.
Assist the development and review of relevant mechanical contracts by providing advice and input as required
Issue drawings and other relevant information for construction by working with engineers and designers
Motivate engineers and other project team members towards superior performance by supporting daily performance and providing ongoing mentoring and training
Contribute to the growth of the business line through Business Development activities
About You
Undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering with a process background in the manufacturing sector
Minimum 15 years mechanical design engineering experience in the municipal and/or manufacturing sectors (food, oil and gas, chemical products, consumer goods, pulp and paper)
Ability to resolve most technical issues in an efficient manner utilizing personal knowledge, external consultants and in-house experience.
Good knowledge of CAD and 3-D software and MS Office
Experience working on and leading multi-discipline engineering projects.
Commitment to mentoring and coaching of personnel.
Strong client relationship-building skills
Progressive thinker with strong analytical skills.
Excellent communication skills

Salary range: $130-$180K
