We are currently recruiting for a Senior Piping Engineer to join our team in Vancouver.

 

About the role 

  • Deliver piping engineering design in line with project requirements and Ausenco’s engineering standards.
  • Perform and verify hydraulic calculations for pumped and gravity flow systems.
  • Perform piping stress analysis (preferably with Ceasar II)
  • Specify pipe supports, spring hangers, and expansion joints
  • Review be the Engineer of Record (EoR) for piping drawings and Isometrics
  • Communicate with engineers from other disciplines to ensure design will be delivered according to project budget and schedules.
  • Assist with project planning and recommend improvements to the design process.
  • Assist designers in the production of project design drawings by providing technical assistance and reviewing drawings in a timely manner.
  • Guide designers in best practise for piping layout, and participation multidiscipline layout reviews.
  • Develop piping and valve material standards and engineering specifications.
  • Input, review and incorporate vendor data to produce IFC level P&ID’s.
  • Facilitate the purchase of bulk pipe, fitting and valves by creating data sheets, scopes or work, technical specifications, MTOs and lists, evaluating and conforming multiple tenderers, and assisting procurement with the purchase of the materials.

 

About you 

  • Undergraduate Degree in Mechanical Engineering, registered as a P.Eng., preferably in BC
  • 8+ years piping design experience in a relevant industry, e.g. mining, mineral processing
  • Knowledge of slurry handling, rubber lined, and HDPE pipe design
  • Ability to resolve most technical issues in an efficient manner
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral).
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Extensive experience with ASME B31.3 and associated standards
  • Knowledge of working with high abrasion pressure piping design
  • Experience with SmartPlant and Ceasar II are considered advantages

Salary range: $125,000 - $160,000 annually

Expected Salary: Variation in salary is determined by factors such as qualifications, relevant years of experience, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.
