We are actively expanding our talented team to support this momentum, and we’re excited to be recruiting for an experienced Senior Project Controls to join our growing team in Perth. Join Ausenco's engineering studies business in a role that goes beyond traditional cost control. You'll take ownership of project controls activities, work alongside Project Managers and Project Engineers, and contribute to how complex engineering studies are coordinated and reported. This is an opportunity to apply your judgement, work independently and broaden your impact across scope, deliverables, change and progress.

About the role

  • Working in tandem with the Planning Engineer, to sequence engineering activities and time-phase deliverables, creating the project performance baseline.
  • Managing project controls activities across engineering studies, including scope/change management, cost reporting and forecasting, and deliverable progress reporting and analysis of Earned Value (EV).
  • Maintaining deliverable lists and coordinating project change processes, including the preparation of change notices.
  • Preparing and communicating updates on cost, schedule and progress, for weekly/monthly reporting
  • Working with Project Managers and Engineers to ensure that project performance meets the plan, undertaking variance analysis where performance deviates from plan and recommending corrective actions as required.
  • Attending monthly Internal Project Review (IPR) meetings, to present the Project performance dashboard to the Operations Manager and other stakeholders.
  • Raising monthly invoices and following up with Accounts Receivable to monitor timely payment.
  • Participating in client meetings as required, providing clear project controls updates.

About You

You're an experienced project controls professional who takes ownership of your work and is comfortable operating independently. You understand how engineering studies progress and can communicate confidently with project teams and clients. Your background may be in project control or project engineering; what matters is your ability to manage the broader controls picture.

You will bring:

  • Experience in project controls or project engineering with exposure to scope, deliverables, change and progress reporting.
  • An understanding of multidisciplinary engineering workflows and how design activities develop across project stages.
  • Strong organisational skills, accountability and the ability to work with limited supervision.
  • Clear communication skills and confidence engaging internal stakeholders and clients.
  • A mechanical, process or other engineering background would be welcomed but is not essential.
