We are seeking an experienced Site Construction Manager to lead the delivery of large-scale mining and minerals process plant construction projects in a remote FIFO environment. This role is responsible for overseeing all site-based construction activities, ensuring projects are executed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and within budget.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience managing multidisciplinary construction teams on mineral processing facilities such as crushing, grinding, flotation, hydrometallurgical, concentrator, beneficiation, or materials handling plants within the mining and resources sector.

About the role

  • Lead and manage all on-site construction activities for mining and minerals process plant projects.
  • Ensure construction works are executed in accordance with approved designs, specifications, quality standards, and project schedules.
  • Oversee subcontractors, supervisors, and construction teams across civil, structural, mechanical, piping, electrical, and instrumentation disciplines.
  • Drive a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all HSE policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate site construction sequencing, work fronts, shutdowns, commissioning readiness, and interface management.
  • Monitor project progress, productivity, and performance against key milestones and budgets.
  • Identify and mitigate construction risks, constraints, and schedule impacts.
  • Ensure quality assurance and quality control processes are implemented and maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, procurement, project controls, commissioning, and client teams.
  • Manage workforce planning, mobilization, accommodation coordination, and FIFO logistics.
  • Lead daily site meetings, contractor coordination meetings, and reporting activities.
  • Support pre-commissioning and commissioning activities to achieve successful project handover.

About you

  • Minimum 15 years experience in civil construction supervision within mining, minerals, or heavy industrial projects.
  • Trade qualification or tertiary qualification in Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline.
  • Significant mining and minerals construction experience essential.
  • Proven experience as a Site Construction Manager, Construction Superintendent, or Senior Construction Lead within mining and minerals projects.
  • Extensive background delivering process plant construction projects in remote or brownfield/greenfield mining environments.
  • Strong understanding of mineral processing infrastructure and heavy industrial construction methodologies.
  • Demonstrated experience managing large multidisciplinary construction teams and contractors.
  • Excellent leadership, planning, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong knowledge of construction sequencing, project controls, QA/QC, and commissioning integration.
  • Experience working within EPC/EPCM project environments highly regarded.
  • Ability to perform effectively in remote FIFO site conditions and fast-paced project environments.
