About the role
- Contribute to the analysis, design, and review of mining infrastructure, including tailings storage facilities (TSFs), waste rock dumps (WRDs), heap leach pads, and associated systems across all project phases.
- Collaborate with senior, intermediate, and junior team members within the Mine Waste Solutions practice.
- Provide technical input and support in the review of geotechnical and tailings deliverables from conceptual studies through detailed design and construction stages.
- Support Engineer of Record (EoR) responsibilities on mining projects, contributing to design oversight, documentation, and compliance.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure alignment, quality, and timely delivery of project outputs.
- Offer technical guidance and share knowledge with team members to support project execution and professional development.
- Conduct technical reviews of engineering reports, analyses, and designs to ensure accuracy and adherence to standards.
- Contribute to multidisciplinary proposals, supporting technical content and client-focused solutions.
- Participate in the design, analysis, and construction support of dam and tailings infrastructure projects.
- Engage with clients to support project delivery from early-stage studies through operations and closure.
- Support the development of technical staff through mentoring and knowledge sharing, particularly in geotechnical and tailings design methodologies.
- Participate in internal knowledge-sharing initiatives, technical discussions, and industry events to promote continuous improvement.
- Travel to project sites and, when required, to regional or international offices to support project execution and client interaction.
About you
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mining, Geological Engineering, or a related field.
- A Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering or a closely related field is considered an asset.
- Solid experience in the analysis and design of mining facilities, including waste rock dumps (WRDs), tailings storage facilities (TSFs), heap leach pads, and related infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of international guidelines and standards (e.g., CDA, GISTM, ICOLD, among others).
- Experience supporting and conducting field investigation programs and interpreting laboratory testing results.
- Relevant experience contributing to multidisciplinary projects and familiarity with TSF operations.
- Exposure to the supervision and/or construction of mining facilities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and clients; Spanish is considered an asset.
