We are seeking a Tax Manager to join us, in Brisbane.

Reporting into the Global Tax Director you will provide taxation planning, compliance and reporting for both domestic and international operations, particularly for the Australia, Asia and Africa region.

Collaborating with the Global Tax Director you will coordinate and advise group managers and personnel on local and international tax obligations ensuring the highest level of tax knowledge and awareness, such that taxation considerations are proactively factored into the group’s commercial and business decisions.

Supporting the Global Tax Director in managing and maintaining local and international taxation compliance and reporting requirements ensuring that all tax and financial processes comply with the highest corporate governance and best practice standards.

Assisting the Global Tax Director, you will ensure that Ausenco is adhering to the tax governance policy and other authoritative guidance applicable to it by using internal resources and outside advisors in an efficient manner.

You will motivate, guide and develop internal capabilities to achieve group tax goals.

 

About the role

 

  • Apply Ausenco processes for managing performance and development. Act as a liaison for Ausenco’s Finance Teams to coordinate the preparation and filing of income tax returns, including Australia, Africa and Asia foreign tax returns.
  • Assist the Global Tax Director and Tax Team in revieing Ausenco’s statutory and regulatory tax filing requirements.
  • Assist the Global Tax Director and Tax Team in managing the preparation of tax projections and payment of quarterly tax estimates.
  • Assist the Global Tax Director and Tax Team in establishing or improving internal processes around the tax compliance and reporting function, including data gathering and recordkeeping.
  • Assist the Global Tax Director and Tax Team in managing the taxation policy and compliance aspects of the group’s policies, in particular the training, awareness, compliance aspects of the policy together with its seamless interaction with revenue and employment contracts.
  • Assist the Global Tax Director and Tax Team in managing the group’s local direct and indirect tax obligations by establishing, monitoring and managing processes with local advisers and managers to ensure that the group meets its foreign fiscal obligations and reporting requirements covering corporate, employment, and consumption tax withholding and remittances.
  • Assist the Global Tax Director in developing, managing and implementing Ausenco’s overall tax strategy, together with tax planning initiatives, to ensure the optimal corporate structure, profit repatriation, inter-company debt, employee remuneration, transfer pricing and assessed levels of corporate taxation are adhered to having regard to assessed levels of risk in local and international jurisdictions.
  • Assist the Global Tax Director in evaluating significant transactions in which the company enters into or contemplates.
  • Collaborate the Tax Team and internal departments, company partners and external advisors to evaluate proposed transactions and investments, with focus on tax implications.
  • Assist the Global Tax Director in providing analysis and options to improve tax

 

About you

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Law
  • CA/ CPA or Graduate degree in Taxation preferred
  • Strong analytical and demonstrated technical abilities in both domestic and international tax areas
  • Superior oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to liaise in a collaborative manner with both internal and external parties.
  • Commercial focus and acumen
  • Demonstrated experience working within a multinational organisation and managing across regions
  • Extensive experience relating to a tax related position (Big 4 or similar role)
