We are currently looking for Cadet Engineering Designer to join our team based in South Bank office to support ongoing business success and growth for 2026.

About the role

As a Cadet Designer (Engineering Drafting), an interest in mining and minerals would be advantageous. 

You will work as a member of the engineering design team where you will develop your skills by acquiring detailed knowledge and understanding of design principles, standards, and guidelines utilising Computer Aided Design (CAD) software applications.

  • Develop your skills in the preparation of 3D models and 2D drawings for industrial and mining projects.
  • Work with Computer Aided Design (CAD) software applications such as AutoCAD, Advance Steel, Navisworks, Plant 3D, SmartPlant 3D (SP3D).
  • Comply with all Ausenco corporate policies and procedures by adopting Ausenco Quality Assurance and Occupational Health, Safety, and Environment policies, procedures, and requirements.
  • Participate in and graduate from the Ausenco New Professional Program (NPP).

About you

  • An interest/understanding of engineering design/drafting. 
  • Willing to enroll or have attained Certificate 3 in Engineering – Technical, from a recognised institution.
  • Willingness to further studies to in engineering/drafting.
  • Participate in and graduate from the Ausenco New Professional Program (NPP).
  • Advantageous - exposure to AutoCAD, Advance Steel, Plant 3D Navisworks, other drafting packages, and Microsoft Office applications
  • Proven attention to detail
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Commitment and enthusiasm for learning
  • Preparedness to undertake industry site visits.
  • Clear written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as a member of a team is a must.
