Our team in Canada is growing. We are recruiting a Junior 3D Piping Designer – Contract to join the Industrial & Infrastructure Team at our Burlington Office.

About the role

• Assist in the development of piping layouts, 3D models, and detailed design drawings for industrial, chemical, and process plant projects under the guidance of senior designers and engineers.
• Support the preparation of piping isometrics, line lists, and material take-offs.
• Assist with the development of mechanical equipment layouts and general arrangement drawings.
• Coordinate with other disciplines, including structural, electrical, process, and HVAC teams, to support integrated project delivery.
• Assist in the preparation and revision of Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
• Develop 3D piping models using AutoCAD Plant 3D and generate 2D drawings from the models.
• Interpret P&IDs, piping specifications, and vendor drawings with guidance from senior team members.
• Assist with ensuring accessibility for operations, maintenance, safety, and equipment servicing requirements in plant layouts. .
• Support engineering and design teams in meeting project schedules and deliverable requirements.
• Follow company drafting standards, design procedures, and quality assurance processes.

About you

• Diploma in Engineering Design and Drafting Technology (Process Piping Major) or a Process Piping Drafting Certificate from a recognized institution.
• 0–2 years of piping design experience; co-op, internship, or relevant academic project experience will be considered.
• Familiarity with industrial, process, chemical, or manufacturing facilities is considered an asset.
• Basic knowledge of piping design principles, piping components, and industry standards.
• Exposure to AutoCAD and/or AutoCAD Plant 3D is an asset.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
• Eagerness to learn and develop technical piping design skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel occasionally for site visits is considered an asset.

Salary range: $59,000 to $65,000

Expected Salary: Variation in salary is determined by factors such as qualifications, relevant years of experience, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.
