Lead Civil Engineer

We are currently looking for a Lead Civil Engineer to join our team based in Perth to support business success and growth. 

We have an exciting future looking project portfolio in critical metals. Working across the full lifecycle of projects from scoping studies through to execution of EPC and EPCM, you will find yourself working across geographical locations such as Africa, Southeast Asia and the Pacific region.  The successful candidate will have the right client and team focus, as well as a commitment to and enthusiasm for continuous improvement. 

About the role

  • Deliver Civil (process plant platforms, access roads, drainage and associated infrastructure in remote and challenging terrain) engineering design.
  • Supervising the performance of Civil engineers, reviewing deliverables and providing high level technical expertise.
  • Active collaboration and communication with project team and other disciplines, providing input to site selection and layout optimization of mineral processing plants.
  • Contribute to the cost-efficient delivery of Civil engineering by managing project deliverables, budgets, as well as reviewing and approving Civil capital cost estimates.
  • Issue drawings and other relevant information for tender and construction by effectively managing Civil Engineers and Designers.
     

About you

  • Degree qualified in Civil Engineering.
  • Proven ability to lead, with prior experience leading Civil project teams.
  • Proven experience in Earthworks, Roadworks and Drainage design engineering in a relevant industry, e.g. mining, mineral processing, materials handling, and heavy industrial.
  • An in-depth knowledge and demonstrated experience in design of mining facilities, with a proven ability to conceptualize project layouts, and optimize designs is a must. Hands on experience with 12D, AutoCad, or Civil 3D and other modelling software is a big plus.
  • Chartered status is a strong asset, but not essential.
  • Ability to resolve most technical issues in an efficient manner utilizing personal knowledge and leaning on in-house experience.
  • Commitment to mentoring and coaching of personnel.
  • Proven ability to manage, motivate and influence employees at all levels.
  • Strong communication skills, with well-developed written and oral English language skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks for the design team and manage time effectively.
