Our team in Brazil is growing, we are currently recruiting for a Planning Engineer, Senior to join our Minerals & Metals Business line São Miguel Paulista- SP.
About the role :
Professional responsible for implementing, leading, and maintaining the Trend Program in an EPCM project, ensuring the identification, recording, and analysis of cost and schedule trends, supporting decision-making and change governance.
Key Responsibilities
Implement, lead, and maintain the project’s Trend Program, ensuring traceability, transparency, and accuracy of information.
Continuously monitor deviations between the baseline budget and schedule (cost and time).
Record and classify trends as Scope Change Trend or Other Trend, ensuring alignment with integrated control processes.
Assign numbering, record, and track the evolution of each Trend in the Trend Register.
Analyze the impacts of trends on budget, contingency, management reserves, allowances, and potential transfers between cost centers.
Lead and facilitate monthly Trend meetings with key project stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and alignment on actions.
Prepare executive reports and detailed analyses to support management.
Perform final coding of resolved trends using the project’s official WBS/EAP.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of planning and control processes (cost and schedule).
Work in an integrated manner with Engineering, Construction, Procurement, Cost, and Planning teams.
About you:
Proven experience in EPC/EPCM projects, preferably medium to large-scale.
Strong background in trend management, scope change management, cost control, and schedule control.
Solid knowledge of Change Management processes.
Advanced proficiency in project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, advanced Excel, Power BI).
Experience with budgeting, baseline development, contingencies, and management reserves.
Strong critical thinking, data consolidation, and executive communication skills.
Nice to Have
Previous experience as a Trend Engineer.
PMP, PMI-SP, or AACE certifications.
Note on the nature of the contract:
This is a permanent position, initially assigned to a strategic project with an expected duration of approximately two years. While the initial assignment is directly related to this project, there is a possibility of extension or reassignment to other future initiatives, depending on company needs and the professional’s performance.
