You'll play a key role in critical project phases, from Basic Engineering and Detailed Engineering to Construction, gaining hands-on experience across a variety of commodities. We are currently seeking an energetic and enthusiastic Project Manager (Process Area) to be based in either Toronto or the Burlington office. If you’re the right person for the job, we are open to discussing you being located in another office location.

About the role

  • Effectively manage all activities for the assigned scope to ensure the successful delivery of the project; including scope, schedule and cost in accordance with Ausenco's objectives.
  • Ensure that the site runs according to project plans with appropriately skilled staff available at the required times to complete construction tasks.
  • Unwavering dedication to safety and proven ability to achieve project deadlines.
  • Lead a team of engineers and technical support personnel in completing assigned scope.
  • Work with project services, supply chain and construction management to achieve the project goals.
  • Manage the team in accordance with the project schedule and the project budget.
  • Maintain a professional and functional relationship with client personnel.
  • Key support for the Project Director as a member of the Project Leadership Team.

About you

  • An engineering degree is preferred.
  • Experience managing large multi discipline engineering teams in a detailed engineering phase.
  • Strong understanding of engineering progress measurement, reporting and schedule development.
  • Strong understanding of the life cycle of procurement package including key contract clauses and the management of changes and variations.
  • Strong understanding of the commercial aspects of construction contracting including developing contracting strategies and the management of changes and variations.
  • 15 years or more of EPC/EPCM experience including supervision engineering teams and development of client relationships.
  • Strong experience in mineral process plants and associated infrastructure design and construction.
  • Experience with integrated engineering tools – Hexagon engineering tools and Ecosys preferred.
  • Have previous experience in process plant and mining projects in excess of US$500M.
  • Significant management experience in the construction environment and a thorough knowledge of all phases of construction is essential to have experience working in a mine construction environment.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
