Our team in Industrial & Infrastructure is growing, we are currently recruiting for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team in the Burlington office.
About the role:
- Deliver mechanical engineering design according to required timeframes and standards by supervising the performance of mechanical engineers, reviewing deliverables and providing high level technical expertise.
- Facilitate the purchase of appropriate equipment by specifying requirements and assisting procurement with the purchase of equipment
- Contribute to the cost-efficient delivery of mechanical engineering by managing the man hour budget and reviewing and approving mechanical capital cost estimates, recommending alternative approaches where possible.
- Assist the development and review of relevant mechanical contracts by providing advice and input as required
- Issue drawings and other relevant information for construction by working with engineers and designers
- Motivate engineers and other project team members towards superior performance by supporting daily performance and providing ongoing mentoring and training
- Contribute to the growth of the business line through Business Development activities
About you:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical engineering and currently registered as a Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario.
- 8 - 15 years progressive experience in the consulting engineering industry related to the Industrial sector in Ontario.
- High level of motivation and accountability to grow self and deliver results within the mechanical team.
- Significant experience with Process Flows, Equipment Layouts, and Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams.
- Experience delivering HVAC and building services designs across all project phases (concept through detailed design
- Experience in design, construction, equipment commissioning and start-up of mechanical systems.
- Project management (PMP) designation is an asset.
- Additional assets would include experience with energy related projects involving Cogen or Food plants, involving boilers, steam and how water heating systems, heat and mass balances, and other plant utilities.\Experience with material handling systems would also be an asset.
- Strong problem solving and organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines and multiple deliverables.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, to provide technical reports, specifications, and proposals.
- Strong desire to interface with clients, determine needs, and prepare proposals for services in conjunction with engineering team members.
- Willingness to become part of a highly technical team providing ingenious and value-added solutions to a diverse client base.
- Engaging interpersonal skills with the ability to work with a variety of group dynamic situations.
- Ability to lead, mentor and support technical staff.

Salary range: $ 136,000 -$ 175,000
Expected Salary: Variation in salary is determined by factors such as qualifications, relevant years of experience, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.
