Site Project Engineer

We are currently seeking an energetic and enthusiastic Site Project Engineer. This position will report into the Burlington Office, however, work will be site based in the South Niagara Region to support on-going Industrial plant construction.

About the role

  • Review technical construction drawings and specifications covering all engineering disciplines as part of the site-based project management team.
  • Monitor project cost, progress and schedule reports and coordinate action plans to correct deviations from plan.
  • Assist in coordination of Owner supplied equipment with mechanical installation packages.
  • Represent the Owner and Engineer at Contractor construction meetings.  Prepare and distribute correspondence.
  • Manage interfaces between engineering, contracts, and the construction team to resolve construction issues impeding progress, including missing information, material deliveries, site instructions, and contract variations required on site.
  • Review of Contractor claims.
  • Support tracking of deliverables and construction documents.
  • Manage client relationships for potential and existing projects and interface directly with sub-consultants, and vendors.
  • Support commissioning services on site.
  • Identify and document deficiencies.

About you

  • 10+ years of on-site experience in heavy industrial construction projects. 
  • Experience in the development, delivery and operation of industrial manufacturing projects.
  • Experience in large scale steel structures and piping projects.
  • Experience interfacing with clients, determining needs and development of strong relationships.
  • Ability to work closely with Senior Project Managers and Discipline leads to execute work and solve site issues.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, are essential.
  • Proficiency with MS Office suite of services to support correspondence.
  • P. Eng. designation would be considered an asset, although is not mandatory.
