Our team in Canada is growing, we are currently recruiting for a Technical Writer to join our Minerals & Metals Business line in the Vancouver office. At this time, we are seeking an energetic and enthusiastic person with above average knowledge of Word and a background in technical writing, who will be proactive, collaborative and detail-oriented.

About the role

  • Oversee the compilation and formatting of technical reports for clients, including scoping and feasibility studies prepared in accordance with standards such as Canadian NI 43-101, and Ausenco’s internal standards and guidelines
  • Compile or write technical information or documentation, review accuracy of documents, and edit written materials.
  • Develop procedures to ensure the smooth delivery of content from report authors with diverse experience in Word processing tools
  • Co-ordinate and work with project leaders, engineers and geoscientists from multiple disciplines to ensure systematic technical and project terminology is used while creating report content
  • Create internal procedural documentation
  • Ensure technical verbiage is easy to understand for technical, and non-technical readers 
  • Review and edit reports for ‘one voice’
  • Effectively coordinate and communicate with other disciplines and departments to accomplish project goals

About you

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, ideally in marketing, communications or business from a recognized college or university.
  • 5+ years of professional writing experience in a relevant field such as technical writing, communications or proposal writing
  • Thorough knowledge of technical editing and writing concepts and techniques, which includes writing clear, concise and simple sentences to explain difficult concepts
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills as well as high levels of integrity, autonomy and self-motivation.
  • Experience in engineering & construction industry, preferably in the mining sector 
  • Familiar with technical engineering terms and language  
  • Competency with MS Office and SharePoint is required
  • Have a keen eye for detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to independently handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines and strict budgets.
  • Strong creative problem-solving skills and an ability to come up with unique solutions, including using new or alternate technology to resolve complex problems

Salary range: $75,000 - $100,000

Expected Salary: Variation in salary is determined by factors such as qualifications, relevant years of experience, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.
