As a result of business growth, we are seeking a talented Finance Analyst to join our expanding team in Brisbane. Reporting to the Finance Manager, this critical role will assist the Finance Manager to provide business leaders with the necessary financial advice, analysis, management reporting and planning/forecast information to support business decision making across the business line.
 
This role provides management and employees with information on the actual and forecast financial and operational performance of the business line. The role identifies reasons for significant variations, undertakes analysis, recommends strategies to improve business effectiveness, and facilitates decision-making. You will also assist with the business plan/budget process for the business line (projects and operational areas).
 
About the role  
 
• Support effective decision-making by assisting in the preparation of accurate responses to ad-hoc information requests in a timely manner.
• Assist the Finance Manager in analysing financial data to identify variances and/or trends to inform business decisions.
• Provide financial information and support for the tender process as required.
• Timely production of the monthly management finance pack for use by the Management Team ensuring that all relevant information has been reported accurately.
• Assist in coordinating the annual and quarterly budgeting/forecasting process for Business Lines by using effective communication, processes, and systems.
• Prepare, review, and analyse AR, WIP, DSO, and reimbursability on a weekly basis, along with any ad-hoc financial data required by the business.
• Assist project teams in ensuring financial profitability and performance meet expectations.
• Liaise with the Regional Business Services team to ensure the accurate processing of transactional accounting/AR/AP/Payroll/timekeeping and related processes for the Business Lines.
 
About you  
 
• Appropriate tertiary qualifications in finance or accounting (CA or CPA certification would be highly regarded, but candidates who have started their studies towards certification are also encouraged to apply).
• Some experience in financial analysis or business analysis, including exposure to business planning, costings, budgeting, and financial reporting, models, and systems.
• Advanced computer skills (in particular Excel) including ability to learn/adapt to new systems.
• Ability to influence stakeholders with both oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good problem-solving skills and an ability to think laterally to support the development of improved business solutions.
• Ability to prioritise and meet conflicting deadlines.
