Our team in Mexico is growing; we are currently recruiting a Process/Metallurgic Consultant Director to join our project delivery business line in Mexico.

About the role 

  • Participate in technical stage-gate reviews within each study on key areas such as process design, general layouts, bulk quantities, capital/operating costs, financial model and final NI 43-101 reporting.
  • In conjunction with the Study Manager, develop project scope based on understanding of key clients’ businesses and operational needs.
  • Lead the effort in developing new client relationships relevant to the group. Work with Business Development to identify, evaluate, and respond to opportunities, ensuring alignment with company direction.
  • Strong knowledge in mineral processing plants, overseeing metallurgical operations, process optimization, and strategic technical decision making.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in CAPEX and OPEX planning, management, and cost control, with the ability to evaluate investments, operational expenses, and ensure financial efficiency across projects and operations.
  • Comfortable and effective in leading, developing, and mentoring technical teams, including engineers, metallurgists, and process designers, fostering a high performance and collaborative work environment.
  • Contribute to the successful planning and execution of Ausenco studies/projects across the region relative to the client’s business needs by providing broad or specific guidance in the group’s area of expertise, as needed.
  • Define and communicate task and performance expectations for direct reports, monitor performance against the requirements and take action where appropriate.

About you

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Metallurgical  Engineering.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience developing studies, predominantly within the mining industry.
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time to meet clients as required.
  • Proven ability to collaborate and contribute effectively as part of cross-functional project teams.
  • Fluent in both Spanish and English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
