Budget Specialist

Our team in Brazil is growing, we are currently recruiting for a Budget Specialist with solid experience in preparing technical-commercial proposals and pricing for engineering projects focused on the mining industry to join our Minerals & Metals Business line in the in Belo Horizonte - MG office.

About the role: 

  • Prepare detailed budgets for engineering projects, with a focus on mining, considering scope, deadlines, resources, and risks.

  • Develop and structure complete commercial proposals, ensuring compliance with client requirements (RFQs, RFPs, tenders, etc.).

  • Define commercial strategies, also considering the use of international Ausenco entities.

  • Determine price composition for services, materials, equipment, labor, charges, and taxes.

  • Support the technical and commercial teams in the economic and financial feasibility analysis of proposals and projects.

  • Participate in technical and commercial alignment meetings with clients and partners.

  • Interface with departments such as engineering, procurement, planning, and legal to collect information and obtain validations.

  • Conduct benchmarking and continually update cost databases and budget assumptions.

  • Support client negotiations by providing technical and financial arguments in defense of proposals.

  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of processes, tools, and models for pricing and budgeting.

About you: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related fields.

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in budgeting and proposals within engineering companies, preferably in the mining sector.

  • Advanced English (spoken and written) – essential for reading technical documents, preparing proposals, and interacting with international clients.

  • Solid knowledge in cost composition, pricing structure, taxes, margins, and markups.

  • Experience with budgeting software, ERP systems, and advanced Excel.

  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and strategic business vision.

  • Good interpersonal communication and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
