Our team in Brazil is growing, we are currently recruiting for a Senior Cost Control Engineer to join our Minerals & Metals  Business line in the in São Paulo.

About the role:

We are looking for a Capital Projects Financial Control Specialist with solid experience in CAPEX and OPEX management. This professional will be responsible for structuring and maintaining the financial controls of projects, ensuring integration between contracts, budgets, and disbursements, as well as cost predictability throughout the project lifecycle. With a strong focus on governance, accuracy, and value generation, this role will be central to ensuring transparency of information, supporting decision-making, and guaranteeing that financial objectives are aligned with organizational strategies and client expectations.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop, consolidate, and monitor financial controls of capital projects (CAPEX and OPEX).

  • Ensure traceability between contracts, purchase orders, disbursements, and the approved budget.

  • Monitor and report cost variations, proposing action plans to mitigate deviations.

  • Support the approval process of change orders, ensuring financial impact analysis.

  • Prepare financial performance reports (financial S-curves, disbursement forecasts, cash flow).

  • Develop and update CAPEX forecasts aligned with the physical progress reported by planning.

  • Conduct contingency, financial risk, and management reserve analyses.

  • Support internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with corporate standards and policies.

  • Create executive dashboards for management, PMO, and clients, translating technical data into strategic information.

  • Act as a link between engineering, procurement, planning, and finance, ensuring data integration and consistency.

About you:

  • Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Economics, Accounting, or related fields.

  • Proven experience in financial control of capital projects (mining, energy, infrastructure, oil & gas, or industrial).

  • Proficiency in Advanced Excel, Power BI, and data analysis tools.

  • Experience with corporate ERPs (SAP, Oracle, or equivalents).

  • Knowledge of project management concepts: CAPEX, OPEX, cash flow, contingencies, reserves, and financial performance indicators.

  • Familiarity with Project Controls practices, physical-financial integration, and executive reporting.

  • Desirable certification or knowledge of PMI, AACE, or similar methodologies

Note on the nature of the contract:
This is a permanent position, initially assigned to a strategic project with an expected duration of approximately two years. While the initial assignment is directly related to this project, there is a possibility of extension or reassignment to other future initiatives, depending on company needs and the professional’s performance.
